BC Hydro Power Smart Excellence Awards
The BC Hydro Power Smart Excellence Awards recognize businesses and organizations that are committed to the smart use of energy. Through the Lower Mainland Consolidation team, we’re dedicated to improving energy efficiency through a well-balanced energy management program; energy-efficient technology upgrades; and behavioural initiatives, such as sustainable transportation, recycling in acute-care sites, and many others across the region. For 2014, we’ve even exceeded our energy savings targets, giving us the ability to apply these savings to direct patient care and supporting a healthy and sustainable organization.
Leadership excellence
Working to receive a Leadership Excellence award is certainly not a small task — and is one of the highest levels of achievement in the Power Smart Excellence Awards. Power Smart Leaders, like VCH and Fraser Health, have proven their dedication to sustainable energy use by showing they’ve maintained or improved their consumption every year, while balancing the complexities of serving a large-scale organization.
