With a background in Architectural Engineering and years of experience in building design and construction supervision, Mahnaz has a comprehensive knowledge of building science and systems. Her passion for sustainability and energy conservation drove her to pursue master’s degree in Energy Management from the New York Institute of Technology, developing her proficiency in energy management technologies, policies, and procedures. She further developed her knowledge through hands-on involvement in various building energy audit and analysis projects.

In her role as an energy specialist, Mahnaz manages energy, water, and greenhouse gas emission data for Providence Health Care facilities. She collaborates with the Energy Manager, Facilities Management and Operations team, and consultants to identify energy-saving strategies and secure incentives from utility providers and government sources. Her duties also include offering technical support for assessing energy baselines, collecting feedback, and monitoring and reporting on the performance of energy initiatives.
