Janani is a sustainability professional who has worked in the high-performance buildings sector for over a decade. She has a diverse background in architecture, sustainable design and construction, project management, and energy systems. She holds a bachelors in architecture from India, master’s in Engineering Leadership with a specialization in high-performance buildings from the University of British Columbia and is a Certified Passive House Designer. Janani’s extensive experience in sustainable design and energy management for both new and existing buildings has made her a strong advocate for energy-efficient and resilient construction practices.
Janani is responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of low-carbon resilient project initiatives for Vancouver Coastal Health’s building portfolio. She collaborates with the Planning and Projects teams on developing project charters, business cases, and implementing low-carbon resilient strategies on major strategic projects. Furthermore, she maintains and develops strong working relationship with provincial ministries, utility providers, federal and municipal agencies to enhance low-carbon resilient planning efforts.
Navigating through the intricacies of climate change and the landscape of complex health-care infrastructure, I find joy and a sense of purpose in contributing to a healthier and resilient future for our community.
