Managing climate risk in our health system has never been more urgent as extreme weather events—such as heat waves, wildfires, storms, and floods—become increasingly frequent and severe. These events pose serious threats to health infrastructure, disrupt service delivery, and undermine community well-being.
To address these challenges, it is essential that we are prepared to anticipate, respond to, recover from, and adapt to climate-related shocks and stressors. To build a climate-resilient healthcare system, we are embedding climate considerations into every aspect of our planning and operations. This involves designing buildings and infrastructure that can withstand future climate conditions, developing emergency response plans for extreme weather, incorporating climate-informed practices into clinical care, and empowering our staff and communities to adapt effectively. By planning ahead, we can strengthen our assets, support our people, and ensure that we continue delivering essential services to those who depend on us.
Goals and Impact
